Dr. Downing became the owner of 1st Street Dental in July of 2023. He studied biology at Kansas State University and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University in Illinois. He loves the history of dentistry at 110 N 1st St and is proud to work with the wonderful dental professionals that work there.

Emma loves being able to watch a patient's smile and confidence transform. She also enjoys coming to work everyday with such a fun team. Emma and her husband are high school sweethearts. She has always wanted to work in a small town at a private practice like 1st Street Dental.

Beatriz graduated from Vatterott College. Over time, she has transitioned from being a dental assistant to an expanded functions dental assistant to an office manager. She currently lives in Des Moines, continuing to do office work from home. She enjoys working for Dr. Downing, as he cares so much for his patients and staff.

Kathy attended the dental assisting program at Marshalltown Community College from 1976 to 1977. She loves the patients, her co-workers, and the great dentistry they provide. She loves her family and their dog Kiska. She misses the mountains and ocean from when she lived in Alaska for 16 years.

Jackie attended the Marshalltown Community College dental assisting program where she received her diploma. She loves the dental team and being able to work with patients to transform their smiles and build their confidence. She will be attending Indian Hills for dental hygiene in the future.

Caitlin studied music education at Joliet Junior College and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from the University of St. Francis in Illinois. She works from home so she can spend time with her young daughters. She loves supporting her husband, the practice, and such wonderful employees.
